- Does converting MP3 to WAV improve the quality?
- No. MP3 compression removes audio data for good, and converting to WAV can't bring it back. The WAV sounds the same as the MP3. It is only more compatible with DAWs, CD tools, and software that doesn't accept MP3.
- Should I choose 16-bit or 24-bit?
- 16-bit is the standard for CDs and most delivery. Choose 24-bit if the file is going into a DAW for more processing. The file is 50% larger.
- Why would I need a WAV instead of an MP3?
- Some DAWs, samplers, radio stations and CD tools only accept WAV, and many clients ask for WAV delivery. The converter writes a standard PCM WAV that opens everywhere.
- Is my file uploaded?
- No. The converter decodes and encodes the audio inside your browser. The file never leaves your device.
