Frequently asked questions
- Which formats can I convert?
- The converter reads any format your browser can decode. In current Chrome, Edge and Firefox that includes WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A, AAC and OGG. Safari reads WAV, MP3, FLAC, M4A and AAC. It writes MP3 (128 to 320 kbps) or WAV (16 or 24-bit).
- Does the converter change the sample rate?
- Not unless you choose a different rate. By default it keeps the source sample rate. MP3 tops out at 48 kHz, so a 96 kHz file becomes 48 kHz and an 88.2 kHz file becomes 44.1 kHz.
- Is there a file size limit?
- Files up to 500 MB. The audio is decoded into your device's memory, so very long files work best on a computer.
- Is it really free?
- Yes. No sign-in, no watermark, and no limit on how many files you convert. The file never leaves your device.
