Song Key Finder
Drop a track, get the key and Camelot code.
Drop in a track to estimate its musical key and Camelot code. Use it to mix songs that fit together, choose compatible samples, or write parts over an existing demo. Your workflow stays focused on the track, not a lookup chart.

Each track is analyzed with a harmonic pitch-class profile (HPCP) built from the spectral peaks, then matched against data-derived key profiles across all 24 major and minor keys — the same approach behind professional key-detection tools.
On a benchmark of real songs this agrees with the leading key finders on the large majority of tracks, and reports the tempo (BPM) alongside the key.
Multiple files
Drop a whole folder or select multiple files at once — they’re queued and analyzed a few at a time.
Privacy
Audio is sent to our server only to detect the key and tempo, and is discarded immediately after — nothing is stored.
Camelot codes
The Camelot system assigns every key a number (1–12) and a letter (A = minor, B = major). Mixing adjacent Camelot codes keeps transitions harmonically clean.
Frequently asked questions
- How does the song key finder work?
- Drop an audio file and the tool analyses the harmonic content to estimate the most likely musical key using a chromagram and key-profile correlation algorithm.
- What is a Camelot code?
- Camelot is a key notation system used by DJs for harmonic mixing. Each key is assigned a number (1–12) and a letter — A for minor, B for major — so you can mix by moving between adjacent numbers or switching letters.
- How accurate is audio key detection?
- Key detection from audio is an estimate. Tracks with complex arrangements, frequent chord changes, or unconventional tonality can reduce accuracy. For critical work, confirm by ear after seeing the result.
